Lesedi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TBEA Shandong Luneng Taishan Cable, a Chinese manufacturer and supplier of power infrastructure equipment, formalising a working relationship that has already seen the two companies collaborate on major substation projects.
The agreement was signed at Lesedi House in May 2026, by Lesedi Executive for Corporate Development and Strategy, Greg Nichollas, and TBEA’s Country Manager, in the presence of Lesedi CEO, Leon Van Wyk, and TBEA CEO, Mr Loujun.
While the companies have worked together successfully in the past, the MoU provides a framework for exploring future opportunities in the power generation sector.
TBEA is one of China’s established suppliers of power infrastructure equipment, with operations across several international markets. Lesedi brings extensive experience in engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance services across the energy, mining, and industrial sectors.
The agreement reflects both organisations’ intention to identify and pursue projects in which their respective capabilities can be combined to deliver power infrastructure solutions. The signing marks the latest step in the relationship between Lesedi and TBEA, building on previous project successes and creating a foundation for future collaboration in South Africa’s evolving energy sector.
