LESEDI is a Black Empowerment Enterprise whose skills development policy fully supports and subscribes to current legislation such as the Employment Equity Act and the BEE Act (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act No. 53 of 2003) together with the Codes of Good Practice and the ongoing development of the various industry sector Transformation Charters and scorecards.
Lesedi recognise that broad-based empowerment is the only meaningful way to broaden the country's economic base, and to accelerate growth, job creation and poverty eradication. The recent Open Cycle Gas Turbine Project has seen Lesedi utilise the services of many BEE companies including Ankile Engineering for piping and artisans, M&M Rigging offering crane, rigging services and structural erection, Pioneer Mechanical Contractors and RH Mechanicals providing welding and mechanical erection, TMS for insulation services and JEV for design engineering services.
This preferential procurement policy has also seen Lesedi employ the services of over 400 employees.
